Your responsibilities:

You will design and implement new functions in a team and help maintain our flagship product SlideSync, a live streaming platform based on Ruby on Rails, backend with MySQL and Redis databases, in a Linux / Mac environment. The frontend is supported by both ES5 and ES6 and uses jQuery, Bootstrap, Sass as well as a purpose-built video streaming infrastructure based on open source. We use Git version control and our automated test suite runs under RSpec and Jest. We host on AWS OpsWorks with nginx/Passenger.

Your profile:

  • You are a talented developer with a front-end focus, an eye for design and usability, and the ability to occasionally take on back-end development tasks.
  • You have a strong background in the major front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and related tools and libraries.
  • You have basic knowledge of backend development, including experience with MVC frameworks and command line interfaces.
  • You are a team player who can work independently and identify, communicate and solve problems in a team. We very much welcome involvement in open source projects, on GitHub or hobby projects.
  • You use clean code with a strong focus on community best practices and maintainability.
  • You have knowledge of automated testing, TDD, BDD.
  • You have excellent written and oral English skills and communication skills, both for internal and customer issues. The working language is English.
  • Experience with DevOps / AWS is an plus point

Your responsibilities:

You test new features and releases of our flagship product SlideSync in different environments (browsers, operating systems and devices) and document bugs in our ticket system. You are in close contact with developers and users. Perspectively you can take over further tasks and responsibilities, e.g. test automation based on RSpec and Chef InSpec.

Your profile:

  • You are a student of computer science, media informatics or business informatics or a related subject.
  • You work in a well-structured way and have an eye for details.
  • You can communicate well, both with colleagues and with customers.
  • You like to create written documentation.
  • Our working language is English, therefore we expect very good written and oral English skills.

  • You have experience in streaming media
